PPG pilots are welcome to use the site at any time, with or without prior appointment. This also applies to helicopters, ultralights and any other aircraft that can safely land and take off from such a short field. Owner is a PPG pilot himself, and lives in the house at the west end of the field. He will of course be happy to join you for a flight whenever the conditions are right. The site can also be used as a stopover on long distance flights, as there will always be a supply of gas and oil available. (Just call in advance to make sure somebody is there.) Please log your flights at http://no.flightlog.org/fl... Previous flights can be seen at http://no.flightlog.org/fl... (Not very impressive yet, but YOU can do something about that...)
Only suitable for PPG, no free-flying launch available. 300+ meters flat field. View from west: http://maps.google.com/map... View from east: http://maps.google.com/map... Same as takeoff. Street address Åkvågveien 180, 4950 Risør. Site is about 2 km east of Laget and 4 km west of Sørlandet Feriesenter. Look for the field with the wind sock on the north side of the road when your GPS shows you're getting close, and you can't possibly miss it. Airspace class G, altitude restriction 2895 meters AMSL (FL95). Starting fee: Wine, chocolate, flowers or a friendly smile for the lady next door. Not only does she have eternal patience with the noise of 2-stroke engines and spinning propellers, she even lends us her own field to make room for safer takeoffs to the south-west. Just have to love neighbours like that :-) Airspace class G, altitude restriction 2895 meters AMSL (FL95). Starting fee: Wine, chocolate, flowers or a friendly smile for the lady next door. As the takeoff is surrounded by hills, you should beware of lee rotors in strong winds. Check the latest forecasts here: Yr: http://www.yr.no/place/Nor... Storm: http://www.storm.no/vaer/1...
