Mt Borah has 4 large launches, all covered in astro turf (N,S,E,W : 340 - 440m AGL) and has a 2WD (with good ground clearance) access road to the launches and landing areas.
Fly into Tamworth. Call Godfrey at the farm and he will come and get you. Alternatively, rent a car, drive from Tamworth north to Manilla. In town, head north over the bridge and turn left after the small gas station. (follow the paraglider signs) After 1km turn right after the next bridge and follow Wimbourne Rd out to Mt Borah (11kms). After 4kms this road turns into unpaved dirt road and you go through several cattle grids. Turn right onto the farm or left to go up the mountain (all new arrivals must go to the farm to sign in to the club register and pay a site fee of A$5/day or max $30 for the season) Contact Godfrey Wenness, tel : +61 2 67856545 He is the owner of the site and president of the Manilla SkySailors Club.
Avoid flying in a northerly, as it generates rotor along the ridge. It is a private site, however once you have become a member of the flying association, you can freely fly (and VERY far) Because of the world championships held there recently, 200km in each direction people are aware of the sport and usually a lift back to the farm is quickly obtained. However have an ample supply of water with you.
